What a Beauty!

Athena

Athena is the socalhomeshop pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 7-year-old, 50 pound, stunningly gorgeous Siberian Husky.

She was found stray in Riverside county. She was taken to an animal shelter, then transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) program. She needs an active family that will make sure she gets plenty of walks and hikes to use up her energy. The original “Athena” was the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage, and inspiration. This Athena is more likely to give you a kiss on your chin or lie down so you can pet her back or rub her tummy.

Because of her size and strength, Athena will need a home with no small children.

The $145 adoption fee for Athena includes a medical exam, vaccinations, spay, and microchip. For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log on to SDpets.org. Kennels and Cattery open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday.

sheba solo

socalhomeshop rescue of the week from Rancho Coastal Humane Society is Miss Sheba:)
She is the kind of girl that tries to melt through the chain link on her kennel gate so she can get closer to you. She LOVES people.

Sheba is a German Shepard/Golden Retriever mix who is three years old and weighs 55 pounds. She has a playful and outgoing personality, and loves everyone she meets. One of her favorite things to do is to snuggle with people. She just can’t get close enough. When it’s time for some exercise she loves playing with other dogs. As much as she would love to spend hours lying on the couch, she’s not a couch potato. Sheba is going to need an active family that will include her in almost everything they do.

Sheba first arrived at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in 2013. She was adopted right away. Now her family moved to a place that doesn’t allow dogs.

The $145 adoption fee for Sheba includes medical exam, vaccinations, and microchip. For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log on to SDpets.org. Kennels and Cattery open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday.

GO GET HER!
